Ameesha Patel is to move house as she now requires a much smaller place.

This move came close on the heels of Ameesha announcing that she was single and available, and on the look out for Mr Right.

“Though my apartment in Juhu was very large with a terrace, I will be shifting into a smaller one soon. It’s very difficult to maintain a large home on one’s own. I love cleanliness and like to do everything myself, so I want to stay in a smaller home, a 2 bedroom one. Smaller apartments are easier to keep clean especially with my hectic lifestyle. I have almost finalized the new apartment,” Ameesha told a reporter.

The actress will move to her new home in Juhi within a month.

The latest gossip doing the rounds is that Bollywood actress Preity Zinta is set to tie the knot with Ness Wadia, the great grandson of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.

The talk of the town is Maureen Wadia has granted Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia permission to marry. However, both mother and son are reluctant to share the information with the media.

“What can I tell you?” laughs Ness, “One day I’m not with Preity, one day I am. One day I’m with her for business purposes, so I don’t know. Everyday you hear new rumours. I don’t know where they come from and why.”

Maureen Wadia is more concise, saying, “This is a private matter and I don’t want to discuss it with the press.” One thing is for sure: Preity’s fans can’t wait to see her as a bride. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait long!

The award winning actress started dating Ness, son of Bombay Dyeing owners Nusli and Maureen Wadia, in February 2005, reports the Daily Times.

The couple’s relationship went through a bad patch earlier this year after singer Suchitra Krishnamurthy blamed Preity for her divorce with Shekhar Kapur.

Krishnamurthy alleged that the actress was having an affair with her director husband.

The news of the wedding has come after several reports of cold vibes between Zinta and Wadia’s mother Maureen had been circulated by the media.

Bollywood’s casting pundits are busy speculating about Mani Ratnam’s second hero for his new movie starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. It is an intense love story.

Ranbir Kapoor’s role in Mani Ratnam’s new film is still being kept a secret, even though many media agencies have reported otherwise. Meanwhile, speculation is rife about Mani Ratnam’s next hero.

The rumour that actor Ranbir Kapoor will be a part of the cast has triggered the guessing game. “We’ve no idea where all the speculation started, or what it means. Ranbir doesn’t feature in the cast of Mani’s film at all,” said a source close to the project.

The source added: “There is another male lead required in this Abhishek-Ash love story. But it must be someone older than Abhishek. So, it cannot be Ranbir.”

A source from the Ratnam camp is quoted as saying, “We’ve no idea where that started, or what it means. Ranbir doesn’t feature in the cast of Mani’s film at all.”

The film, which also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, will see Ranbir Kapoor play a much older person who has issues with Aishwarya Rai’s character.

Sanjay Dutt has always been in the centre of many a controversy. Now we come to the latest twist in the most talked about marriage in Bollywood .

Come February we were greeted to the news of Sanju baba’s wedding to starlet Manyata. First it was a registered marriage in Goa, then a Hindu wedding in Mumbai with his family ‘missing’ from both ceremonies.

The marriage led to several controversies including the rumour that the hush-hush marriage was speeded up ‘coz the Dutt’s had yet another announcement to make, that of Manyata being pregnant!!!

Then came the news that a convict, Meraj-Ur-Rehman claimed that he was still married to Dutt’s ‘wife’. Surprisingly Dutt has been silent on both these statements doing the rounds.

First, the Goa marriage registrar’s office slapped a notice on the couple .This was followed by the Marriage Registrar in Goa serving Manyata with a show cause notice questioning her on the fake residential certificate that she had submitted.

Now, in a bizarre turn of events, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt and wife Manyata have revoked their marriage in Goa.

The couple applied to the Goa Marriage Registrar seeking to revoke their marriage on Thursday and the Goa marriage registrar has accepted the application permitting them to withdraw the marriage. The wedding now stands cancelled.

The couple in their application said they did not desire to honour their marriage under the Portuguese Civil Code.

Sources said the couple decided to cancel their marriage to avoid the legal tangle arising out of the alleged fake residential certificate that the registrar had accused Manyata of submitting at the time of the wedding.

The duo apparently wanted to register their marriage under the Special Marriages Act but was not informed at the time of marriage that the Act was not applicable in Goa.

Independent sources in Goa confirmed this when contacted over phone Thursday afternoon.

The development comes barely three weeks after the couple’s wedding first came under the limelight .

Circles close to Dutt described the development an indication of how Dutt and Manyata are ‘frustrated with the continuing legal complications hampering their wedlock’.

A close friend of Dutt, filmmaker Nitin Manmohan, said that Sanjay and Manyata just want to lead ‘a normal, peaceful married life, but the legalities rocking their marriage has left a bad taste’.

Manmohan said though he had not yet spoken to Dutt about the matter, he sympathised with the couple.

Actor Saif Ali Khan is looking for a pair of diamond earrings to gift his lady love. So he asks help from an expert. None other than his sister, Jewellery designer Saba Ali Khan.

So Saif was in Hyderabad this weekend to cheer Saba and also do some shopping for his new lady love.

“I’ve asked her to design earrings for a special someone,” said Saif. So it seems that the rock Kareena’s already sporting is not dazzling enough?

Rani Mukherjee is all set to do a moral about-turn.

After playing three different kinds of prostitutes in The Rising, Laga Chunari… and Saawariya Rani Mukherjee is set for a U-turn.

In her new under-production Yashraj film directed by Kunal Kohli Rani plays an angel who descends down to look after business-executive Saif Ali Khan’s children

Rani is all smiles about this role reversal. “You can call it my prostitute trilogy. I hope people will remember my three different portrayals of the Fallen Woman with affection.” Says Rani with her trademark smile.

Some of her critics have sniggered at Rani’s back-to-back roles as a prostitute in Laga Chunari Mein Daag and Saawariya.

Rani ,however, is unfazed. “What’s the big deal? An actor’s job is to play a variety of challenging roles. And I don’t think anyone has the right to question any actor for his choice of parts.”

How does it feel to be playing an angel?

“I can’t be happy doing just good-women or bad-women roles. Luckily for me I got to experiment”, says the actress who has always taken grave risks with her career.

“Right now I’m not allowed to talk about Kunal’s film. But yes, any opportunity to surprise yourself and the audience is welcome,” says Rani.

For now Rani is happy playing the angel in Kohli’s film. She’s currently shooting for the film with Saif Ali Khan in Bangkok.

Hit pair Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerjee will set the screen on fire once again in a Kunal Kohli-directed film. However, despite the film having started production a month ago, chhote nawab Saif has just started to make his presence felt on the sets.

“This yet-to-be-titled flick brings the Hum Tum team Saif, Rani and Kunal together. But Saif was not involved in a single shot in the initial days ‘coz of his changed appearance for another Yash Raj film he was shooting for viz Tashan.

In Tashan, he wears an unusual hairstyle with long sideburns and a double barrel moustache. He can’t alter this look for the Kunal Kohli film and get back to his Tashan look in a matter of days. So the makers had planned both the films in such a way that the schedules don’t clash and disturb continuity,” an insider revealed.

Now that Tashan is over, Chote Nawab is busy catching up on the shooting schedule for the new movie.

It is one of the most awaited weddings of Bollywood …..But even before the marriage vows have been exchanged the duo have run into troubled waters!!! If our sources are to be believed then, Rani and Adi marriage plans are in big trouble thanks to our renowned astrologer Bejan Daruwalla! Daruwalla who has great experience on his side, has predicted that Rani and Adi match is not auspicious.

He says that as Rani and Adi are both born on the same star date 21st they share the same wave length, but accordingly to Mr. Daruwalla the relationship will only flourish if they remain friends. The astrologer also warns that if Rani and Adi ever plan to marry then, they will suffer huge losses.

Adi’s parents Yash and Pam have heard Bejan’s prediction and hence, they have not been cheering the Rani-Adi jodi.

Rani began her career with a movie titled ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat’ and she sure hopes that at this stage ‘Dilwale’ Adi takes the ‘Dulhaniya’ Rani away.

If the latest rumors in Bollywood are to be believed he moment has finally arrived for Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukherjee.

The Yash Raj scion, who was staying at a suburban five-star hotel for a long time due to differences with his parents is back in his parent’s home but on one condition that they don’t interfere in his personal life (read Rani Mukherjee)

The entire problem started with Yash and Pamela Chopra’s disapproval for Rani as they didn’t want their son to break-up with his wife Payal. The DDLJ director, however, didn’t give in to their demands… and is still dating the queen bee.

He apparently wanted Payal to move out of the house before he returned home. Though Pam still does not like Rani much, she has had to bend because she could not stay away from her son.

But what about “poor” Payal? Hearsay is she gets a settlement, worth more than Rs 20 crore, besides a plush spacious in Juhu, close to Sanjana Kapoor’s Prithvi theatre.

With everything else falling in place, Adi is finally filing for a divorce. His married life of five-odd years is headed nowhere, they have told the family court in Bandra. The mandatory six-month cooling-off period required after filing a mutual consent divorce petition will get over this May for the producer.

It took three joint meetings with their lawyer for the two to set their divorce process in motion.

Their lawyer advised them and they agreed not to mention the terms of settlement in the court documents, opting instead for an out-of-court arrangement.

We further hear that Rani Mukherjee and Aditya Chopra are set to marry on February 10, 2008 at Umaid Bhawan Palace hotel in Jodhpur, following an as yet unacknowledged engagement ceremony in June.

Umaid Bhawan Palace Hotel has been famous few months ago when English actress, fashion model Elizabeth Hurley tied knots with the Indian businessman Arun Nayar there.

Some reveal it as “It’s one of the most expensive place in India, but Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukherjee think it’s the perfect place to get away from the prying eyes of the media world.

It seems like the couple have booked the hotel in advance to make sure that everything is done in a very hushed manner. Only some close friends have the information about it. Of course, Rani’s family members know about it but it’s not sure about Aditya Chopra’s family.”

Earlier talking to press Rani vehemently denied that she was engaged to Aditya.

At the launch of Raga Crystals range of women’s watches, when Rani was quizzed on rumors of marriage to Aditya Chopra, she sarcastically responded.

“You might not know but I have five children also. Go find them and I will reward you,” Rani said.

So as of now we still are on hearsay but it definitely seems that matters are heating up on the personal front for Rani Mukherjee.

Rakhitronics on Valentine’s Day!!!!

In a seeming highlight of Valentine’s Day, the original drama girl Rakhi Sawant gave us some more drama.

Most of the stars had special and not so special plans for Valentine’s Day. However , our original Drama Queen was busy with a Self-Directed Show with herself on centre stage which allowed her full fledged freedom to add all the ‘Mirch Masala’ and glorify her self.

Her pathetic boyfriend, Abhishek played along… maybe in the hope that this would give him the needed spotlight to break into big time!!

News channels too played along to create breaking news! In the seeming highlight of Valentine’s Day, that was telecast live on a news channel, our home-grown drama queen, Rakhi Sawant had herself showcased as the injured party. Her boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi visited her home and gave her a bouquet of red roses and begged for forgiveness. It was reported that Rakhi split with her boyfriend, leaving him heartbroken on Valentine’s Eve.

Initially appearing to be taken aback, Rakhi soon showed her irritation and even slapped him in full view of the cameras. Abhishek ,however, persisted and tried to make up with her. To this, Rakhi showed more annoyance and called security to throw him out of her home.

The security was hesitant to do so, and Rakhi shouted in her now patented dramatic fashion, ‘Do you work for me or for him?’

Throwing public tantrums is not new to Rakhi. First Mikka, then Nach Baliye and now Abhishek. With not much else to offer, guess she needs these gimmicks to stay in the limelight!
